The Rocket Launch

“Okay, let's do this. I've got 24 hours. Let’s start. Back in 1994 my rocket was going to launch off Apollo 13. So let me share my story. It was May 13 I was having my cup of green tea. Thinking about the launch. I was an astronaut for NASA. I was going on a trip of a lifetime to space. Thinking that if this went smoothly it will make the world proud so I walked to my car.

I drove to the NASA Base. There two engineers put space suits on. As I was starting to regret this trip. It said 2 hours till lift off. We went down an elevator and through a hallway and to the launch pad. There she is Apollo 13”.we got into the cab we ready I said to myself exactly. “Control command ready when you are” 54321...

WHOOSH! BANG! BOOM! “The engines are go” shouted an astronaut from mission control. Shshshsh! I started to soar into the air. “We are at 2200 metres” I said to myself. Booooooom! “Noo the engines are overheating." I said in a scared voice. “Mission control we are noo...” the radio cut out. I began to panic. “Hello are you okay?”  Mission control said at their end, but of course I couldn't hear. Then, engine one went off, followed by engine two, one was left, engine three... I tried to restart it but all it did is drop rocket fuel into the atmosphere. At this stage we were two km to the moon and engine three had gone off.

Space station “I think that he is stuck in space no one knows where he is.” Hello mission control we a-r-e alive oh you are okay he eng-ings are down okay we will tell you what to do. Ok press the rest an then start” Boom Bang “we have landed. I walk out of the rocket and put a flag into the the rock hard grand the end.

Matariki uplits

This week I made cool matake uplits. A couplet is a poem that is the last word on the first line. Has to rhyme theth the second line of the last I have two.

 They look in the sky up there there are 6 stars. Who are they so shining they are like new gold bars.

 Himm look there are shooting stars. But it’s still as rock as it is so far it’s in mars.

Chicken Diva Art

Last week we made fancy-looking chickens. They have necklaces, shiney ribbons and exciting colours like green instead of real chicken colours like black and brown. Here is a picture. It took me around 2 hours to make.

Basic Facts

This week in Team Moana we have been learning how to use multiplication wheels to help as learn our maths. I am not that good at  9x, 7x and 8x. I am going to learn my 9x tables.
